Review: iPad 2
So, it has come to this point now. We are looking at the latest generation iPad, the iPad 2. We have recently offered a skinny on iPad 2, but here is the real deal. Does it meet all the demands and hype? Let us find out.

Let us start off with the chassis. You will find that there are some startling improvements compared to the first generation iPad. The back side is flatter so it feels more solid and will not feel wobbly lying on a flat surface. Of course, you have to take note that it is much easier to handle now when it lost weight. It also lost a little bit of bulk as it is a lot thinner already. A lot of people complain that the old iPad can be a pain to hold for extended amount of time but at least with the thinner and flatter chassis, you will be able to handle it much better. That extra thin look makes it a lot more modern and well, lighter so that is a great thing. Many find this change very favorable as it really makes holding the iPad 2 a lot cooler.
Another important element here is the addition of front and rear cameras. Do not worry if you like it all metal, the positioning of the cameras and the integration is so good you won’t find it obtrusive to the overall look and feel of this sleek iPad 2. It is still questionable why anybody would need a camera since you would not really use a tablet for point and shoot functionality. Well, with Face Time, you might want to try it out but still, it is still quite a mystery why you would want to put cameras and make your iPad 2 looking like a digital mirror. Of course if you are bored and if you just want to enjoy a little quick photo app, the Photo Booth app can prove hours of fun and enjoyment. You will also love to do video calling.
Now, let us see if it really can take the thunder of iPad when it comes to power and functionality. This new tablet with all new iOS 4.3 is a beast of mythical proportions. Apple uses the A5 dual core processor that can offer really robust processing for graphics that can run even faster than a CPU. Even Steve Jobs promises that the graphics processing will be 9 times more powerful. If you are a game developer, exploit this and give us some really kick ass games. The speed and processing power is very apparent when you open the apps. The touch screen is also a lot responsive already. Gaming is really smooth and impeccable in the iPad 2. You can also make fantastic movies with i Movie and it just feels very solid so if you are a Vlogger and you need a quick edit, you can use this iPad 2 on the go and make yourself a nice video complete with transitions and stuff.
The Smart Cover is a really nice touch that you might want to get for the iPad 2. You can purchase it as either plastic or leather and it can be latched on the tablet and it will protect the screen. It is quite cool and it really makes the cover seamlessly part of the device. It is quite a nice detail to add.
Overall, you can say that this is a really different tablet all on its own. From its look and feel, you will really see a difference. The performance is greatly improved though we have not touched the nitty gritty of iPad apps and other features offered by the tablet itself but it does offer really solid performance. This is a really great upgrade. It is up to you now if you will take this for its looks and performance or your prior judgment.

Ouch that hurt! Amazon’s new Kindle commercial takes a slam at the iPad, calling out its high price tag and its shiny screen that is difficult to read in sunlight.
The television ad, which debuted on Monday during Good Morning America, features a woman in a bathing suit near a pool reading her Kindle. The man next to her reading what’s assumed to be an iPad asks her how she can read her device in the sun.
“It’s a Kindle,” she replies coyly, adding that it’s only $139. “I actually paid more for these sunglasses.”
Feeling defeated, the man puts down his device.
The ad is reminiscent of Apple’s “I’m a Mac” campaign against rival PC – perhaps giving the iPad creator a taste of its own medicine.
Apple has not yet commented on the ad.
