AT & T has announced record sales for the new Apple iPad. Apple itself has issued a press release detailing how the company sold three million iPads in the three days since it went on sale on Friday.
Analysts estimate the iPad 2 sold at most 1 million in its first weekend, making this a threefold increase against last year. Best-selling launch weekend of any device still goes to the iPhone 4S, which sold 4 million units in its first weekend last October,

The iPad2 completes one year of outstanding success in the market and Apple watchers are circulating rumors about the impending launch of the iPad 3. The date currently predicted ranged in mid to late in March 2012. The iPad 2 was launched on March 7, 2011, less than a year after the iPad1 which came out in April 2010. The speculation about the iPad3 flows from the perception that high volume personal electronic products need an annual upgrade.
The speculative stories cite alleged leaks from Apple employees and claims of pipelines into component suppliers in China, Korea, Taiwan or Japan. Also, talks of lab models being left behind at restaurant tables and the like. The pattern Read more [...]
