ipad-2

IPad 2 comes in white and black and has a handy case in many colors pending availability. It also comes in Wifi model, or WiFi and 3G model. Are you a serious gamer? How about music, do you think you will play a lot of music? In other words how much storage do I need on my new iPad 2? To help you decide on which model to buy guys at Gizmodo wrote the following guide:

16GB model of iPad 2 is suitable for streaming music, surfing the web, checking email or reading books.

32GB model of iPad 2 has more space therefore is better if you’re playing some videos on hulu or working my Garage Band.

64GB model of iPad 2 you need if you like to play videos. It makes sense to have more storage when playing iMovie to edit, record or play movies. This model is advised for anyone who like to play games.

If you’re going to use iPad 2 at home or cafe or anywhere where WiFi is accessible then WiFi model should suffice. If you’re on the go kind of a person working your iPad in the streetcar or sitting with pals on the park bench, or simply moving about a lot, then 3G model is probably worth the extra $130. 3G is also important if you think you may need to use GPS in your iPad 2.

Verizon seem to have a better coverage and iPhone users satisfaction is great. Verizon is also better for heavy users of data services as they have more options (1GB for $20/month; 3GB for $35/month; 5GB for $50/month; 10GB for $80/month). Cheaper and better option for occasional users is signing up with AT&T (250MB for $15/month, or 2GB for $25/month). Another reason for AT&T is international use. Most foreign countries support GSM like AT&T. All you have to do if you’re say in Europe is to purchase a SIM card and with 3G you’re good to go. For exact price breakdown visit CNN

Enjoy you’re new iPad 2! Here are some nice pictures if you haven’t seen one yet.

California authorities are close to wrapping up their investigation of the case involving the iPhone 4 prototype obtained by Gizmodo in April. Apple chief executive Steve Jobs was interviewed during the investigation.

Stephen Wagstaffe, chief deputy district attorney for San Mateo County, Calif., told CNET Monday that police are nearly finished with their investigation, Greg Sandoval reports. A final report could be sent to Wagstaffe “within the next few weeks.”

“Wagstaffe will then review the information and determine whether to file criminal charges,” the report noted. According to the district attorney, a “number of Apple employees,” including Jobs, and “people connected to the case” were interviewed during the investigation.

The saga began in March when Brian Hogan reportedly “found” an iPhone left by an Apple engineer in a Redwood City, Calif., bar. After removing a false case meant to simulate the appearance of the iPhone 3GS, Hogan realized the phone was a nearly-finished prototype of the then unannounced iPhone 4. Hogan then reportedly sold Gizmodo the “exclusive rights” to review the prototype for $5,000.

Although Engadget posted the first photos of the prototype, it was Gizmodo’s Jason Chen that eventually broke the story with a hands-on video of the device. Read more

Ouch that hurt! Amazon’s new Kindle commercial takes a slam at the iPad, calling out its high price tag and its shiny screen that is difficult to read in sunlight.

The television ad, which debuted on Monday during Good Morning America, features a woman in a bathing suit near a pool reading her Kindle. The man next to her reading what’s assumed to be an iPad asks her how she can read her device in the sun.

“It’s a Kindle,” she replies coyly, adding that it’s only $139. “I actually paid more for these sunglasses.”

Feeling defeated, the man puts down his device.

The ad is reminiscent of Apple’s “I’m a Mac” campaign against rival PC – perhaps giving the iPad creator a taste of its own medicine.

Apple has not yet commented on the ad.
