With so many note taking apps available from the iPad App Store, it gets pretty confusing as to which of them really does the job done. The job of allowing you to transform your iPad into the traditional notebook. Fortunately, there are some that really stand out and one of them is WritePad 4.2. I’ve got several note taking apps on my iPad and WritePad is one of the apps I really enjoyed using because it made the boring task of note taking more interesting.

WritePad 4.2 is both a note taking and handwriting recognition app for iPad. It lets you use your finger or an iPad-compatible stylus pen to write down notes on your iPad’s screen and the app will transcribe this into digital text. Of course once you’ve transcribed notes, the app opens up several possibilities on what you can with your notes. WritePad lets you send notes via email, Twitter and between two iPads. You can also translate the note into other languages supported by the app and just now, with version 4.2, the app now lets you sync your notes to your Dropbox account.

If you get tired of writing using your fingers, the app allows you to use the iPad keyboards to input text in both landscape or portrait modes.

Other features of the app include – inline gestures, spell checker, context analyzer, and shorthand features. Finally, if you’re a customization freak, WritePad also lets you change the appearance of the app’s interface by changing text, page and ink colors as well as fonts.
