Lets see what next generation of the hottest item on earth will bring. Competition in tablet industry is getting tough and iPad 2 needs to keep up to spear head the tablet trend. Apple is undoubtedly realizing that as they have ordered 6 million units to be manufactured before the release date.
IPad 2 will utilize both GSM and CDMA networks to make it easy to access to the internet.
The case will be thinner. Ipad 2 is made of uni-body single piece of metal with no pins, much like MacBook.
Ipad 2 will have both FaceTime front facing camera as in the iPhone as well as rear facing camera and it will also have 3-axis gyroscope.
iPad 2 is roumored to have both an SD card slot and a USB port to allow for uploading media. Other rumors have suggested that Apple is moving towards entirely wireless platform – communicating, printing, and streaming media and images. TechRadar suggests that port use is for an adapter so that the iPad complies with EU regulations on mobile device chargers.
IPad 2 will likely have higher resolution display similar to the Retina Display featured on the iPhone 4. Higher resolution places strains on battery life a speed of processor. Dual Core processor and bigger battery may solve that issue, but then we’d have some extra weight to worry about. 7-inch Retina Display is already being used in other tablets and iLounge suggested that an even smaller, 5.6 inch prototype display is in development. Although this is unlikely, as IPod Touch and IPhone already have this market.
As for processor KitGuru claims 2 GHz processor and a high definition video camera for next generation of iPad. Memory should be upped to 512MB to handle the demand on multitasking.
As for release date and shipping details we are still in the dark, although some reports suggested that Apple will begin shipping the iPad 2 in February, which means that IPad 2 should be on the shelves by April 2011.
Price-wise, we’re not expecting IPad 2 to be cheaper by any means. If 7 inch IPad will break in than some decrease in price will occur. Otherwise, given the loyal client base of Apple and the quality and reliability of Apple products, we are not speculating on any price drops.
