We’re getting updates on iPad 2 from Taiwan. Ming-Chi Kuo of Concord Securities is confirming dual core 1.2GHz processor which will make our iPad 2 much faster. IPad 2 will also have a GPU using Imagination’s SGX543 dual core graphics technology which is two to three times powerful than iPhone 4. To power this GPU iPad 2 will also get 512MB RAM which is twice as much as iPad. IPhone 4 has memory clock is 800 MHz. IPad 2 is running at frequesncy of 1,066 MHz for bigger memory bandwidth.

The resolution it seems will remain the same (1024Ă—768) but the iPad 2 display module for better form factor will be 30~35% thinner than iPad 1. IPad 2 will also be more pleasant to read in sunlight with new anti-reflection feature. This of course will compete against some new tablets that adopted anti-reflection lately. Retina Display has been a center of controversy and rumors recently. Ming-Chi Kuo states in his words:
“The most important reason why iPad 2 won’t have retinal display is yield rate of panel making. At this point, making high resolution and bright IPS/FFS panel is not easy and the production volume and cost couldn’t meet Apple’s requirements.”
