Since the devastating events in Japan in the past month or so, some people wonder if this will affect the supply of components that are used for the creation of iPad 2. While others think of theories of why it will be a worry, an analyst says that it is unlikely the iPad 2 supplies will be affected. Ever since the launch of the new generation tablet, the company has been trying to keep up with the demands and the Japan Quake dampened the operation. According to Rajesh Gai of ThinkEquity, While some people think that there will be shortage, according to Hon Hai, a major manufacturer, they have laid down a plan already with alternate sources. Also, Gai stressed out that Apple has already booked 60% of the total capacity for touch panels already so there is no apparent reason to worry about shortage. It is actually the other companies who will need to search for ways since it seems Apple has a monopoly over the display. Even if the company has all the resources it needs, meeting the demand is yet to be done since it is quite delayed with the shipping that takes 2-3 weeks to happen.
