iPhone and iPod Touch use 480 x320 pixels on their display. IPad has a bigger screen and therefore demands an even higher resolution. They use the standard 1024×768. When you place an app specifically designed for an iPhone, you would normally experience lowered image quality and it makes the app look ugly on an iPad. Of course, the developers designed high res, iPad worthy versions. However, if you are still using some iPhone apps, it seems like jail-breaking is not the only option for you. For $3, you can purchase the Retina Pad. You can get this at Cydia store which is a place for those iPad devices that were broken in already. This application check the iPhone app and it checks to see if it can run on the display graphics of the software. The fact is the new iPhone and iPod Touch models have higher resolutions so instead of doubling the pixels, the Retina Pad will just convince the iPad to use the already installed retina graphics on most iPhone applications. This is a fantastic option if you already cracked your iPad already. This is a fantastic app to use if you just want to use the iPhone apps.
