Here we go – folks at TUAW have posted a review of the Real Racing HD which is a high-resolution version of the original Real Racing game meant for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The Real Racing HD looks great on the superb IPS display and sounds great too. The controls work like a dream.

The current car is seen in a bay. There are chiefly 5 ways to control the car:

  • Method A – Accelerometer steering, auto accelerate, manual brake
  • Method B – Accelerometer steering, manual accelerate, manual brake
  • Method C – Touch to steer (tap either side of the screen), auto accelerate, manual brake
  • Method D – Touch to steer (slide as if using a steering wheel), auto accelerate, manual brake
  • Method E – Touch to steer (slide as if using a steering wheel), manual accelerate, manual brake

There are 12, yes 12 championships to win, which means that unless you play this game 24 hours a day, you will not be completing the whole game in a month or so. Now, how is the experience? Fascinating, exhilarating are the words that would come close to describe the experience. You can actually hear the downshifting which tells you the level of detail provided by the game.

The cost $9.99 and is available at the AppStore.
