Ths app uses an existing Ooma account to make VoIP calls from your iPad. It does not use Ooma phones like telo and it still has its own voice compression mechanism. This is great for the 3G users who wish to cut down their bandwidth use.
You need either the $250 Ooma Telo or the older Ooma Hub. If you are not on subscription, calls cost 1.9 cents per minute inside the US; Premier subscribers at $10 per month normally get 250 minutes for free each month within the US. Costs 10 dollars. [link]
