The built-in Safari web-browser is great, but lacks tabs. This ‘but’ is not a small ‘but’, but quite a big ‘but’ because there is enough space for tabs. It makes perfect sense not to include tabs in iPhone’s Safari browser, since the screen is so small, but not in case of iPad. In fact, I am so used to tabbed browsing, I wrote an article about apps that can give you tab-support (Read – iPad Safari Tabs article).
The Atomic Web browser brings-in this much needed support. The app looks and behaves quite a lot like the Firefox. There is a free version too [link], but you cannot open more than 5 tabs in that one. There is no limit on this paid version that costs just 1 dollar. The app supports portrait as-well-as landscape browsing; customable start-up screen (like Opera) or a blank page, if you prefer. Just like Firefox, you get multiple-search options.
It also has gesture support and even comes with an built-in ad blocker to block all those irritating ads. Another useful feature is offline webpage viewing. So is there anything that I did not like about it? Well, there is only one – start-up time. Safari browser takes literary no time to start, but the Atomic Web Browser takes 2-3 seconds to start.
