The Air Display app allows you to use your iPad as a wireless monitor for your Mac. It is not a replacement for your LCD monitor, but is for those who already own an iPad and wish to put its HD display to some use. It is perfect for graphic designers and programmers.
Since it use Wi-Fi, I recommend it not to use it for watching videos. Another downside that I see in this app is that there is no PC support right now, but the company’s website says that Air Display is coming to PCs too. [official site]
