Black Friday – High Flyers

It seems Apple had another bumper Black Friday - Apple itself of course is always reluctant to announce any sales figures before quarterly earnings time, but 9-to-5 Mac claims a screenshot of Apple's retail inventory system reveals record-breaking Black Friday sales. Apparently Apple predicted sales would be more than four times higher than on a typical Friday, but according to the source Apple sales had smashed that forecast by 7pm.
Apple went on the offensive for Black Friday this year, offering $100 off Macs, $41 off the iPad 2 and $21 off the iPod Touch.

No-one who works in an office, or who runs a business of their own, will agree with the above statement at all. I certainly don’t. I just put it there to attract the attention of people like me, sorry about that!
Laptops and tablets are excellent. Tablets for media, laptops for traditional computing – i.e. anything where you need to use a keyboard and have a screen that can be set at eye level. Though even here of course the laptop requires such an amount of extraneous hardware, to get it up to your eye level and let you use a keyboard to type on, that space wise you might as well have a desktop.

The first update to iOS5 is now available for download and should resolve the battery-draining problem, it should also fix issues with ‘Documents In The Cloud’.
iOS 5.0.1 also makes multitasking gestures possible on the first-gen iPad and improves voice recognition for Australian accents. Get yourself over to Apple’s site if you haven’t updated yet.

As Apple adjusts to life without its leading light, the Cupertino-based company is attempting to keep hold of its top talents with astronomical loyalty bonuses for executives, delivered if they remain until the end of 2016. Most of their top vice-presidents have received 150,000 equity shares at current prices that translates to very reasonable $60 million per person.
But 50% of the value will only be realized if they remain with Apple until June 2013, and the other 50% will be thiers if they are still with Apple come March 2016.
